Ob vor oder nach dem Essen : Ein Besuch in der Bar von Danilos Boardinghouse lohnt sich : ein ausgesprochen geschmackvolles , gemütliches Ambiente mit sympathischem ,zuvorkommendem Personal lädt zum Verweilen ein ! Man spürt die Leidenschaft, mit der hier gestaltet wurde !

My German is certainly not good enough to say all I’d like to, so English it is… A very comfortable place to stay after the big move from the US while we wait for our apartment to become available. My husband and I were very impressed with the size of the space and their willingness to accommodate our two medium sized dogs. We still have two more weeks in our month-long stay and haven’t really had a single problem. The beds are very cozy, the kitchen is pretty nice for a hotel setup (no oven but the stovetop is excellent and there’s a microwave and a small fridge, coffee maker, plenty of dishes and some cooking basics. I’ve been able to prepare entire meals from scratch in this space!), and the laundry being on site is great. It’s a fairly quiet area, especially to me as someone coming from a large city.

The housekeeper is very friendly and helpful, she is especially kind about my dogs who make a bit of a racket when she comes (thank you for understanding!), and when I first arrived she immediately introduced herself and offered assistance. Plenty of space to walk the dogs and explore in the immediate area, including a paved path with a dog waste station. And there’s nothing quite like stepping out your door and seeing a castle up on the hillside right away. I will miss that view!

The first night I arrived we had a pizza from Danilo’s restaurant across the street and it was delicious. Lidl is only a short walk away (and basically across from that is a huge Rewe Center if you’re looking for something more particular), there’s a bakery even closer, and it’s a reasonable walking distance to the streetcar stop (15-20 minutes or so).

I’m looking forward to settling into my new home but this has been a great place to land in the meantime. Thank you so much for accommodating us! We will certainly be back to visit the restaurant after we move to our permanent residence.
